Our History
Advanced Engineering Resources, Inc. began in 1996 with the merging of the individual private practices of its founding Principals: Jerry Jones and Gary Rogers. Having worked together during the previous years both in private practice and with prior employers, Mr. Jones and Mr. Rogers realized that the formation of AER would enhance their ability as individuals to respond to clients who were increasing in number and diversity and create the opportunity for the new firm to grow. In 1998 AER moved into its new and permanent home in Madison, Mississippi after having outgrown the facility in which it was founded.
Prior to forming Advanced Engineering Resources, Inc., Jerry Jones operated a consulting engineering practice for eight years serving clients throughout the Southeastern United States. During previous employment engagements with a major chemical producer, an international engineering firm and in private practice, he has acquired project engineering management experience in a broad range of multi-discipline projects. Mr. Jones serves the firm in the capacity of President.
Before entering private practice in 1994, Gary Rogers gained valuable experience in the electric utility industry as the engineer in responsible charge of civil and structural engineering for a major international design/build contractor in the electric substation business. Mr. Rogers has also been employed in the engineering department of one of the largest public utilities in the nation. His experience is geographically diverse, ranging throughout the United States and abroad. Mr. Rogers serves the firm in the capacity of Vice-President.
Since its beginning in 1996, Advanced Engineering Resources, Inc. has experienced steady growth in terms of both staffing and the magnitude and diversity of the projects on which the firm has been engaged. On an annual basis, AER has provided structural engineering services on projects whose construction budgets in total exceed $100,000,000.
